Ubunye Sangoma is not just a school — our institute is the sacred gateway for spiritual seekers ready to return home to the soul.

We are the first Sangoma training school in the United States, passing on the Ubungoma lineage. Providing space for those called to awaken, remember, and walk the path of the traditional healer. Rooted in the ancient, spirit-led teachings gifted from our elders from the traditions of the South African Bantu speaking people woven with the sacred wisdom of the Akan and Yoruba lineages of West Africa, Our sacred teachings carry the heartbeat of the ancestors recently and long departed. A rich and enduring culture whose roots trace back to the great Bantu Migration — a historic movement of people from West Africa that gave rise to the diverse and vibrant Bantu-speaking communities across central, eastern, and southern Africa.

Many iziSangoma currently practicing across the U.S. have been initiated into the Ubungoma spiritual lineage directly by our founder, Dr. Yeye Makhosi Gogo Nana — a revered elder, medium, guide and leader whose journey has been shaped by countless initiations in both the physical and spirit realms.

This is the first institution of its kind in America — birthed to serve those who feel the call of spirit but are unsure where to begin.
